Personalities give your dragons some individuality and character. They have visual auras that appear around the dragon as well as dialogue unique to that personality that the dragon will say when it's an adult. They can be acquired through various means by meeting requirements while the dragon is in the egg and hatch stage, or through applicable items known as Moon Pieces when the dragon is an adult.

During the egg and hatch stage, a basic personality will always be shown as the “Predicted Personality” on the dragon's training menu, even if the dragon meets the qualifications for special personalities. The personality is decided when the dragon evolves to the hatchling stage. During the hatchling stage, actions taken will no longer affect the personalities.

Personality Categories

Personalities have certain requirements that a dragon must meet in order to qualify. These range from their stats, how they were trained cares, view count, an item that is applied to them, them being a specific species, and even actions taken while the dragon is set as your partner. They can be divided into four categories.

Basic Personalities

Every dragon will always qualify for a minimum of one basic personality. These are determined by the dragon’s base stats. The highest stat and the lowest stat(s) (if there are two stats tied for the lowest value) determine which basic personality the dragon qualifies for. A dragon can qualify for more than one basic personality at a time.

Special Personalities

These personalities have specific requirements a dragon must meet in order to qualify to be obtained. These requirements can range from specific stats, certain actions taken while the dragon is set as your partner, a certain view count, specific types of care actions, obtained via a certain method, and more. These personalities tend to be flashier and more complex visually than basic personalities.

Exclusive Personalities

These personalities are often exclusive to certain dragon species, or exclusive to a certain obtainment method. The number of dragons that are able to qualify for these personalities are very small. Like special personalities, exclusive personalities tend to be flashier and more complex.

Event Personalities

These personalities are acquired from in-game events, and are typically acquired in the form of Moon Piece items that the player can apply to an adult dragon. These personalities tend to be the flashiest and take on the most unique designs.

Priority/Success Chance

Which personality a dragon receives is not decided at random. The game follows a specific order, checking each personality in a priority order to see if it is acquired. Each personality has both a priority and a success chance, and a higher priority indicates that it gets checked sooner in the order, while a higher success chance means it has a higher chance for the dragon to obtain it.

Each personality has its own success chance that is used when the game is deciding if the dragon will receive the personality or not. If the first personality in the order does not succeed, it moves onto the next and checks that one. It continues through the order until either a personality check is successful or it runs out of personalities to check, in which it selects the dragon's basic personality.

This information can be utilized to find backup personalities in case the desired personality does not succeed. It also allows us to know what personalities are safe to overlap. For example, a dragon will often qualify for both Wild and Charming due to Wild requiring two sicks and very low cares only, which can also result in meeting the 20+ cares requirement for Charming. However, since Wild comes first in the priority order, qualifying for Charming will not reduce the chance of getting Wild.

Priority Tierlist

Shown below is a tierlist of all the personalities and the tier they belong to. The higher they are on the tierlist, the higher of a priority they have. Personalities on the same tier may get in the way of each other if the dragon qualifies for both, and personalities that is on a higher tier will get in the way of the personalities below it if the dragon qualifies for both.

Tier # Personalities
Tier 0 All Moon Piece/Applied personalities

Tier 7.5 Pure

Personality Helper

The personality helper can be accessed by going to a dragon’s profile. The button appears in the top right on their main page. It also appears in the “Actions” list, care menu, and training menu. It allows the player to select one personality to set as a “Goal.” It additionally shows which personalities the dragon currently qualifies for.

By selecting “Personality Conditions,” the player can view a personality’s requirements, and see which of the requirements the dragon does and does not meet. This page will also show the dragon’s current stats (if the player already has an adult of that species), as well as by how much the stats have been increased.

The Personality Helper does not distinguish between personalities you can no longer qualify for and personalities you do not yet meet the qualifications for. For example, a dragon that has been cared can never again qualify for Introvert. A dragon that has not done any trains does not currently qualify for Serious, but still has the opportunity to obtain the personality. However, the helper marks both of these personalities the same way: “Impossible to Manifest”.

The order personalities are shown in the Helper does not correlate to their priority order.

The “Preview” tab only displays the default male version of each species, and does not correlate to the specific form and gender of the dragon being viewed.

Rerolling/Forcing Personalities

Due to the nature of how personalities are determined, a dragon that qualifies for a personality may not get it when it grows into a hatchling. However, there are still ways to reroll a personality, or even force it onto a dragon.

The Potential Personality Analysis special action can reroll the dragon's personality, giving you another chance to get the desired personality, but has a chance to roll for the personality the dragon already had if the dragon does not qualify for 3 or more personalities. Works once per hatchling. Has a cooldown of 10 days.

Alternatively, there is also the Moonlight Gem Item.pngMoonlight Gem item. This can change an adult dragon’s personality to another personality which they meet the requirements for. This cannot give them personalities they did not qualify for. If this is attempted on a dragon that has a guaranteed personality, such as Dull or Lunatic, they will not be able to select any personality other than that guaranteed personality, as guaranteed personalities overwrite all other personalities the dragon may qualify for.

In addition to the Moonlight Gem, there is also the Brilliant Moonlight Gem Item.pngBrilliant Moonlight Gem item, which can be used on an adult dragon to change its personality to any personality that you have obtained on your account at all. This excludes event personalities, exclusive personalities, and lineage-based personalities such as Neat, Noble, Pure, and Classy.
