Special Personalities

From Dragon Village Collection Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Special personalities have specific requirements a dragon must meet in order to qualify to be obtained. These requirements can range from specific stats, certain actions taken while the dragon is set as your partner, a certain view count, specific types of care actions, obtained via a certain method, and more. These personalities tend to be flashier and more complex visually than basic personalities.

For the main page about personalities, see the Personalities page.

Personality Requirement Types

These personalities can be divided into smaller categories based on their requirements. These are the categories, as well as tips for how to meet these requirements. Remember that some personalities may fall under more than one category.

Training Based

Dragons get a training "point" to use every six hours, and can have up to two ready to be used at a time. (In game, this can be seen as the "Available Training Count" on a dragon’s training page). This means four training sessions can occur per day. However, some personalities require more trainings than can be done in the minimum growth time for a dragon. For example, Immersed requires a minimum of 14 training sessions (Which varies by base stats), which is a minimum of 4 days.

Every species of dragon has two sets of base stats (also known as innate stats). Every egg obtained will have one of these two sets. These stats will work for one of the basic personalities. You can check a dragon’s base stats by seeing the predicted personality when no stats have been trained, and then checking their individual wiki page to see what the actual stats are when they have that predicted personality. If you had a dragon of that species grown as an adult already, these base stats will be unlocked and can be seen from the dragon's training page.

When doing a personality that requires many trains, it’s recommended to stall their growth. You can do this by keeping their happiness low. Do not care for them; make them sick if they are healthy. For most personalities, simply leaving the dragon in the Incubator and doing nothing else to increase their happiness stalls for long enough to get the trainings done. In some situations, it may be recommended to not stall until the dragon is in the hatch stage, so they take up less egg slots.

The Stun special action is another way to stall for more trainings, which paralyzes a dragon from growing for 24 hours. The dragon will be untrainable while stunned, but will have two training points ready when stun wears off.

If the wrong training result has been performed, the Trained Effort Value Reset (1 Time) item can be used to undo it.

View Based

Some personalities require a specific view count. This can be a minimum view-count requirement, (i.e. Lovely), a range (i.e. Lousy), a specific number (i.e. Silent), and so on. To get views on the dragon, other players must visit its profile.

Views can be obtained by:

  • Setting the dragon as your partner.
  • Putting the dragon in trade and asking for pats.
  • Asking in the in-game chat.
    • Be respectful, and try to space out when asking, as you may irritate those in chat. You may be blocked if you irritate people, which means they won’t see you asking for pats, and you’ll ultimately get even less. Asking to “P4P” or “Pat for Pat” is the most common method. This is a mutual exchange of views, where they view your dragons if you’ll view theirs.
  • Asking in guest books.
    • Be respectful, and do not do this if the person clearly does not want this type of guest book comment.
  • Creating a link and sending it in a DVC community space
  • The special ability Sea Creature Calling which gives 100 views (cannot be used on the same dragon more than once)
  • The View Count Amulet gives 100 views and can be used on the same dragon more than once. They can be obtained rarely from the Item Gacha, or bought for 100 Diamonds.

If the personality has a specific view range that the dragon must be in, you can prevent the dragon from getting any new views with the Mist Curtain special action. If you cannot use this special action on a dragon but need to restrict its views, prevent it from being visible to other players through trade listings, your village, your profile, the incubator, and even lineage trees.

Care Based

Care based personalities may require certain types of care (i.e. Wild) or a certain number of Cares (i.e. Charming). Some require no care at all (i.e. Introvert). Some require use of the Incubator. If the wrong care is used, the Sting! special action can be used to undo the dragon's entire care history and start over.

Lineage Based

Some personalities require a dragon to have a particular lineage. Notably, a "pure" Lineage. For a lineage to be considered pure, it must meet the following requirements:

  • Be shaped like an upside down pyramid/triangle
    • Sometimes this is described as “Flat across the top”
    • Can also be characterized as every pairing in the lineage having each parent have the same generation (i.e. only pairing G2s with G2s, and G3s with G3s – not mixing a G2 with a G4, for example)
  • Have no inbreeding (with some exceptions)
  • All dragons in the lineage must be the same species.

Breeding dragons of the same gender does not affect the purity of the lineage.

Hybrid species can only have a pure lineage if they are obtained as G1's from Santa Claus’s Present during the Xmas Event. Though, there is an unintended way to get the G5 pure personalities (Neat or Noble) on hybrids by making the hybrid a G6 with the previous five generations pure. This does not work for Pure or Classy.

There is currently an issue with the coding that allows G5+ dragons to be considered Pure with inbreeding, if the inbreeding is done in a very specific way. See Neat or Noble for more information.

Partner Based

These personalities require certain actions to be done while the dragon is set as your partner. For example, opening 20 chests in the square will qualify the dragon for Curious.

Other

Some personalities have arbitrary requirements unrelated to any other requirements. These requirements will be specified on a case-by-case basis.
