Dragon Village Collection Wiki:Policies

From Dragon Village Collection Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

All users must comply to these rules without exception. Users must also adhere to wiki.gg's terms of service alongside these policies. Please grow familiar with these rules and check back regularly if you forget or are unsure and in need of a review. If you need clarification on any of these rules, feel free to ask in our Discord or in the Policies talk page.

Overall Rules

  • Please refrain from profanity. This wiki is intended to be used for all ages, so any vulgar or inappropriate content will not be permitted.
  • Be civil and respectful. Even if you disagree with someone and/or their edits, you are still expected to be respectful towards them. Insults and harassment will not be tolerated.
  • Do not excessively self-promote. Stay on topic and do not promote your (even if related) social media/videos/websites without speaking to an administrator first.
  • Keep personal information to yourself. Do not put any revealing information about yourself on this wiki.
  • Keep the content about DVC. This wiki is not intended for other Dragon Village games or about the highbrow company, and thus all content on this wiki should only be about DVC.

Editing Rules

  • Follow the style guide for formatting. If you're still unsure how a page should be formatted, try looking at other pages and copy what they do, or ask an administrator.
  • Do not spam/vandalize. This will be easily reverted and may get you banned.
  • Be objective with your edits. Opinions, complaints, or speculation are not appropriate on this wiki. It's okay to denote something as unknown if you don't know for certain. Tips or tricks are allowed if applicable.
  • Do not create unnecessary files, pages, categories, etc. This is considered spam and will be deleted.
  • Section off, mark, and/or hide spoilers. Spoilers are typically unreleased content, whether it be announced by the developers, in official content outside of the game, or unannounced and in the game's files. You can indicate that something is a spoiler by using the {{Spoiler}} template to create a notice at the top of the page/section to warn anyone about the page's contents.
  • Avoid numerous edits of the same page at a time. This is a softer rule, however, if you are seen to excessively edit/save a page, you may be subject to administrator action.
  • Do not start edit wars. This is the act of constantly reverting the edits of another user. Try to reach a middleground with the user through their talk page, or talk to an administrator.

Discipline Disclaimer

The action taken upon a user who has broken a rule will vary depending on the severity and frequency of the rule broken. New users to the community will generally be given some leeway as they learn the ropes of the wiki, and most users will be subject to a warning upon their first broken rule. However, if the rule broken is severe enough or if they continue rule-breaking behavior, they may receive an immediate ban. Disciplinary actions are up to the administrators and moderators and their discretion.
