Exploration

Q: When do Exploration site's eggs refresh?
A: Regular Exploration sites as well as the Shelter refresh their eggs at every 1 minute interval. At the bottom of each regular Exploration site is a clock for the server time which you can use to know when the next refresh will occur.

Q: Who is the Wandering Merchant?
A: The Wandering Merchant is an NPC that appears every 6 hours in the Exploration tab (05:00 UTC, 11:00 UTC, 17:00 UTC, and 23:00 UTC). When he appears, he will have three dragons that you can pick one of as well as a dragon that is being raffled off that you can possibly win. The dragons that he has are picked from a pool that changes every month. His pool contains rare Exploration dragons as well as four dragons that can only be obtained through him - three of which will retire and be replaced at the start of each month, and one that he will always have, Lakion Egg Sprite.pngLakion.

To figure out what time it would be for you when the Wandering Merchant appears, compare your timezone to UTC using this converter here.

Q: What is Evria?
A: Evria is a special Exploration site unlockable after obtaining a minimum of 42 dragons. You must pay 1,000 Cosmic Crystals to enter, and are presented with three eggs, all of them being rare Exploration dragons. Some dragons have special alternative-colored forms that can only be found in Evria, and are disguised as normal dragons until they are picked up, in which they'll be received as an Egg Box. When you enter Evria for the 26th time, you are guaranteed a special alternative-colored form, though it will come as an Egg and not an Egg Box. You do not compete against other players in this Exploration site, so you don't have to rush to pick an egg.

Q: What is the Underground Castle?
A: The Underground Castle is a special Exploration area where you can fight a series of battles to obtain Egg Pieces and special dragons that can only be found there. It is unlocked when you obtain a minimum of 40 dragons, however with a low amount of adult dragons, you cannot go very far in it. Dragons that were adults before you started an Underground Castle run will be able to be chosen in battle, and any dragons who grow to adult after the fact will not be available. To update what dragons are available to fight, simply end your run by being defeated and starting a new one.

Dragons

Q: Can my dragons die?
A: Yes, dragons can die due to different reasons.

A dragon can die due to being in one stage for too long - on a dragon's profile in the Dragon Info section, you will see a timer with a heartbeat icon that denotes how much time is remaining before the dragon dies. This timer starts at five days and is reset each time a dragon evolves.

Dragons can also die due to being abandoned, and if a dragon is untradeable, sheltering them will also kill them. Dragons can also die if you care for them twice while they are sick, though the game will warn you beforehand.

Q: What are views/clicks for? Will they help grow my dragons?
A: Views/clicks are only necessary for certain personalities such as Lovely or Extroverted; they don't have any affect on a dragon's growth.

Q: Will monthly dragons come back next year?
A: Yes, a monthly dragon is given a rerun in the next year before retiring. If a monthly dragon was released this year, they will return the next year, but will not return the year after that.

Q: How long does it take for dragons to grow?
A: Each species has a different amount of time it takes for it to grow, which can be checked on its wiki page. On average, it will take a dragon about 1 day to 1 day and 15 hours for it to evolve to the next stage.

A dragon's growth can be accelerated through various actions, such as the Cuddle ability, Adore, or through the use of items such as Dragon Drinks or Rapid Growth Pills.

Q: Is there a dragon limit?
A: No, you can own as many dragons as you want, though there is a limit to how many you can grow at a time.

Q: How can I increase my egg/nurture limit?
A: You can increase your egg/nurture limit by ranking up your certificate level by obtaining a certain amount of adult dragons.

Certificate Level Adult Dragons Required Egg Limit Nurture Limit
Newbie 0 4 12
Recruit 5 4 12
Rookie 50 5 15
Veteran 200 6 18
Master 500 7 21
Grandmaster 1,000 8 24
Legendary 2,000 9 27

Q: What are Chaos/Apocalypse forms? How do they work?
A: Chaos/Apocalypse forms are special forms for Card Code dragons such as Porta Egg Sprite.pngPorta or Nidhogg Egg Sprite.pngNidhogg. These forms can either be obtained through an Egg Box (for G1) or through breeding (for G2+). Having a Chaos or Apocalypse form is not required to breed more of these forms, and you can breed one from any generation. Chaos can only be bred if bred with a partner with a certain personality or element depending on the species, or with a Dimension Dragon Egg Sprite.pngDimension Dragon, while Apocalypse can be bred no matter the condition, though the rate to hatch one can increase if bred with a partner with the Apocalyptic personality or element depending on the species, or with a Ragnarok Egg Sprite.pngRagnarok.

There is no way to tell if a dragon is a Chaos/Apocalypse form until it hatches.

Q: How do I obtain Clavis' Christmas form?
A: Clavis Egg Sprite.pngClavis' Christmas form can only be obtained by breeding two G1 Clavis' or two Christmas form Clavis' together during the month of December. This form is untradeable and cannot be obtained from other players.

Personalities

Q: What are personalities? What do they do?
A: Personalities are traits that every dragon has and can be influenced through various activities. When a dragon becomes an adult, it will have an aura correlating to the personality it has. Personalities may be required for certain bonds, quests, hybrids, and badges.

Q: Are personalities guaranteed? / I met the requirements for a personality, but my dragon didn't get it!
A: Most personalities are not guaranteed, and there are very few exceptions, such as Dull or Lunatic. When a dragon qualifies for a non-guaranteed personality, the game will roll to decide if the dragon obtained it or not. You can reroll using the Potential Personality Analysis ability while the dragon is a hatchling, or use a Moonlight Gem Item.pngMoonlight Gem to apply the qualifying personality you desire when the dragon becomes an adult.

Q: What does "basic personality" mean?
A: Basic personalities is the personality the dragon starts with and can be considered the dragon's "default" personality. If the dragon does not end up with any special personality, whether it be from bad luck or from not qualifying, the dragon will end up with its basic personality.

Each species has two different basic personalities it can start with - one is more common to obtain, and the other is more uncommon. Basic personalities are used to help determine the dragon's base stats.

Q: What are base stats?
A: Base stats are the default effort values that the dragon starts out with. These stats are hidden from the player if they haven't grown the dragon's species before, though the Mind Reading ability can tell you the stat of the dragon's highest effort value. Base stats must often be known in order to train a dragon to qualify for certain personalities, such as Capable or Distracted.

A dragon's effort values are often formatted by the community as agility/strength/focus/intellect. For example, if a dragon has a stat of 5 in agility, 10 in strength, 50 in focus, and 20 in intellect, their stats would be 5/10/50/20.

Q: Does the use of vitamins or the Adore action disqualify a dragon from any personalities?
A: No.

Trading

Q: How can I trade or gift my dragons?
A: To be able to exchange dragons with other players, you first need to use the Deliver ability of a Liberte Egg Sprite.pngLiberte dragon. A Liberte dragon is also necessary to receive a gift, though it won't use Liberte's ability. So long as the dragon isn't untradeable, you can list it up for trade in the Trades tab.

Q: Can I trade adult dragons?
A: You can trade adult dragons through a limited-time special market called the Goblin Market for Special Dragon Drinks in an auction-style sale. Certain dragons cannot be listed on the Goblin Market.

Q: What makes a dragon untradeable?
A: A dragon can be untradeable due to varying factors. If they were obtained from a regular Exploration site or Shelter, they will be untradeable for five hours. They can be untradeable if they were obtained from Evria (special alternative forms from Evria can be traded so long as they're in an Egg Box, however) or the Wandering Merchant, events or codes, are sick, named, in your village or profile, untradeable as a species, and for many other reasons. Untradeable dragons will have the trade symbol crossed out as an icon next to them in the Dragons tab, though dragons that are untradeable due to things that can be changed such as naming them and getting them sick will not show this icon.

Q: My dragon is untradeable, but it should be!
A: If your dragon is untradeable when it should, and it's not named, sick, in your village, profile, or is untradeable due to its species or how it was obtained, in the section where you add a dragon to a trade, tapping the [x] button next to the untradeable dragon should tell you why it's untradeable.

Q: Are G1s of monthly dragons tradeable?
A: No, only bred monthly dragons are tradeable.

Items

Q: What are all these currencies used for? How can they be obtained?
A: There are many currencies in the game that have different uses and obtainment methods. You can visit the Currencies page to look into a specific currency.

Q: How can I get items for quests?
A: Items that are necessary for quests can be obtained from using dispatch. You can obtain different items depending on your dispatch area and the dragons you use.

Q: I bought/received an Egg Box but can't find it!
A: Egg Boxes purchased from the Special Shop will be sent to your mail. All Egg Boxes are in your Inventory and can be opened there.

Q: How can I redeem codes?
A: In the in-game menu, go into Settings and select the code type (Card Code for codes obtained from card box merchandise or Coupon for any other code).

Q: Are there any codes I can redeem?
A: You can find a list of working codes on the Codes page.

Q: I tried to redeem a code, but it didn't work.
A: If the code hasn't expired, check that you selected the right code type to redeem the code in. Coupon codes will not work in the Card Code section and vice versa.

Q: What are card codes?
A: Card codes are codes obtainable through card boxes, which is IRL merchandise purchasable through DVC's Naver store.

Other

Q: What's the "holy power" required to get into the portal at the bottom right of the Square/What is Lathea?
A: Lathea is a special area in the Square where you can look at dragons that have been ascended by yourself and/or other players. You can access Lathea by having an adult default form (not Underground Castle form, it will not count) Centura Egg Sprite.pngCentura or Linu Egg Sprite.pngLinu as your partner.

Q: How can I trigger Hidden Quests?
A: Hidden Quests have varying requirements to get them to appear - some involve having a certain decor item in your village, while others involve having a certain dragon as your partner.

If you're sure that you met the requirements but the quest ! icon isn't showing up for you, try restarting your game or talking to NPCs who have a lightbulb or ? quest icon, since these icons can hide that the NPC has a new quest.

Q: How do I play the Jump! Minigame?
A: When the egg is about to touch the blue line, tap and hold while the egg pushes down on the line. Wait until the egg fully stretches the line before letting go, and if you timed it properly, it should launch the egg back into the air.

Watch this video for a demonstration.

Q: How can I unlock and/or complete entries in the Dragon Book?
A: You unlock/complete entries by gaining points. These points can be earned through obtaining that dragon's form/stage (5 points per obtained) or through viewing others' dragons of that form/stage (1 point per view), though some dragons, such as the Cosmic Album Reward dragons and the Help Request dragons do not give points from viewing others dragons and can only have their entries unlocked/completed by obtaining them yourself.

The typical amount of points you need to unlock a stage's entry scales: eggs need 5, hatches need 5, hatchlings need 10, and adults need 15.

This amount can vary for some species, however. For example, Caretaker God Dragon Egg Sprite.pngCaretaker God Dragon only requires 5 points of each stage to unlock its entries.

Q: The game says it's down for maintenance, what's going on?
A: The game may become temporarily unavailable due to maintenance to implement new updates. These periods of maintenance generally last 2-3 hours and occur every week or two. You can check when maintenance will conclude from the popup that appears when you try to log in to the game while maintenance is ongoing.

Q: I purchased Diamonds, but I didn't receive them in my mail. What can I do?
A: Restart your game and/or clear your cache and check your mail again. If you still don't see your purchased Diamonds, you'll need to contact DVC Support and explain to them your issue.

Q: How can I fix my game not loading/failing to load patch files?
A: This can happen due to many reasons. Try restarting your game, clearing your cache, restarting your device, uninstalling and reinstalling, or checking your internet connection. If the issue persists, you may need to contact DVC Support and explain the issue, or wait a little while and try again.

Q: Can I submit or suggest a dragon I designed?
A: Yes. DVC holds contests every 3 months where you can submit a dragon you designed to be implemented into the game. Check the Event Notices regularly to be up to date on when the next contest will be held.
