The Shelter is a special Exploration area where players can obtain growing dragons that have been discarded by other players. This area is available in all continents.

Obtaining Dragons

At every 1 minute interval, the Shelter will refresh, allowing dragons that were recently sent to the Shelter to appear. Dragons new to the Shelter will be displayed more often than dragons that have been in the Shelter for a while. You cannot retrieve a dragon that you have sent to the Shelter, and dragons from the Shelter cannot be put in a Dilis Box. Once a dragon is obtained from the Shelter, it cannot be traded, sent back to the shelter, or abandoned for 5 hours.

Shadow Dragon

If you attempt to retrieve a dragon egg that has been in the Shelter for 30 minutes or more, it may transform into a Shadow Dragon egg upon grabbing. This process will not replace the egg it transformed from and it will remain in the Shelter, and the Shadow Dragon obtained will always be first generation, regardless of the generation of the egg it transformed from.

A maximum of 5 Shadow Dragons can be obtained through this method. Receiving a Shadow Dragon through other means such as trading do not effect this limit.

Sending Dragons

Any dragon can be sent to the Shelter so long as they are not on a Shelter cooldown. A dragon may refuse to be sent to the Shelter, which will cause it to be on a 1 hour cooldown before you are able to attempt to send it to the Shelter again. Dragons obtained through Exploration also have a 6 hour cooldown before they are able to be sent to the Shelter. If you attempt to breed while you're at your egg/nurture limit, the egg obtained will automatically be sent to the Shelter.

Dragons that are currently on a Shelter cooldown can be bypassed through using the Dragon Shelter Ticket, though it's possible they can still refuse to be sent to the Shelter when the ticket is used.

Death

Dragons in the Shelter cannot evolve and will not have their growth time paused, meaning, if they reach their maximum growth time of 5 days in one stage while in the Shelter, the dragon will die.

Additionally, untradeable dragons that are sent to the Shelter will be unavailable to other players, and thus will always die.

Trivia

• Sending a dragon to the Shelter does not remove the effects of using a vitamin, such as Pino's Vitamins (24h). Meaning, if you apply a vitamin to a dragon and send it to the Shelter, the player who grabs the dragon will obtain it with the vitamin effects still applied.
• Dragon Notes will not be removed from a dragon if they are sent to the Shelter.
• Prior to the June 23rd 2023 update, dragons that reached their maximum growth time in the Shelter would not die and instead remain in the Shelter with 0 minutes remaining on their timers.
